Experience and Collaboration

Units within the Experience and Collaboration department support the teaching, research, and service mission of the University through technology operations.

Leadership

Gary Senseman joined the Division of IT in July 2023 as the Assistant Vice President for Experience and Collaboration, where he has responsibility for the following units/functions: Software Licensing, Research Computing and Cyberinfrastructure, Application Development and User Support Services, and Academic Technology.

Gary brings with him a wealth of experience having served in various leadership roles in both IT and research at Colorado State University.  His background includes several areas directly connected with our missions of teaching and learning, research, and outreach.  From 1994 – 2018 Gary was involved in CEMML, one of our biggest research areas as a Project Manager, Principal Investigator, and Associate Director.  He started as the IT Director in the Warner College of Natural Resources in 2016, playing a dual role with CEMML until he transitioned full time to the Director of Technology Services in 2018.

In addition to his work in Natural Resources, Gary is an active campus leader where he has served as the chair of CITAC, a member of both the IAC-Leadership Advisory Group and the Faculty Council Committee on IT, and participated in various CSU IT Strategic Planning initiatives.
